This Privacy Policy explains how ATZMON LLC ("ATZMON," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you when you use The Atman Method iOS application (the "App"). The App guides you through structured self-reflection conversations and produces written personal outputs: a manifesto, an action, and reflective lines you earn over time.
Scope. This Policy governs only the iOS application. It does not govern the website at theatmanmethod.com, which collects different information and retains it differently. If you use the website, the policy that applies to you is the Website Privacy Policy. Where the two documents differ, each governs its own product.
The App is not therapy, counseling, medical care, mental-health treatment, or crisis support, and it does not provide any of these. Please read our Terms of Service and the notice shown before each conversation for important information about the nature and limits of the App.
The App is intended only for individuals who are at least 18 years old and located in the United States. We do not knowingly permit use by anyone under 18.
We record limited information about how the app is used: which screens are reached, which of a set of options is tapped, and how long each takes. This does not include anything you write or say. It goes to our own systems and is not shared with advertisers, analytics companies, or any other third party.
Some of what you share is "sensitive personal information" under California law and comparable state laws, in particular information concerning your mental or emotional health and the contents of your communications. We use it only to provide the App you have asked for and to keep the App's crisis handling working. Apart from the safety signal described above, we do not derive characteristics about you from what you write, and we do not build a profile of you, use your information for advertising, or use it for any purpose beyond delivering the App to you.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your conversation content or your outputs to train artificial-intelligence models, for marketing, or for testimonials, and we will not use your content for any testimonial or promotional purpose without your separate, specific, written consent.
We share information with third-party service providers who process it on our behalf and under contract, only as needed to operate the App:
We may also disclose information: (a) to comply with law, legal process, or a governmental request; (b) to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person, including in situations involving risk of harm; (c) to enforce our Terms of Service; and (d) in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy or provide you notice.
We retain your conversations. Your conversations, manifestos, actions, and earned lines are kept under your account until you delete them. This differs from the website, which deletes a conversation transcript once the conversation is complete; see the Website Privacy Policy.
The App exists so that months from now you can see who you have become, and the record of how you got there is part of that.
You can permanently delete your account and everything in it at any time, from within the App, on the Account screen. Deletion is immediate on our systems and removes your conversations, your outputs, your notification token, and your account itself. It cannot be undone.
You may also request deletion by contacting us at privacy@theatmanmethod.com; we will honor verifiable requests within the timeframe required by applicable law and in any event no later than 45 days. Some information may be retained by our providers for a limited period for security or legal-compliance purposes. Deleted data is removed from our database backups within 14 days.
One thing survives deletion, and it is not about you. We keep a daily count of how often the App's crisis handling was triggered, recorded as a date, a category, and a number. It carries no account, no identifier, and nothing you wrote, and it cannot be traced back to any person. We keep it so that we can tell whether that safety layer worked, after the accounts it protected are gone.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest through our infrastructure providers, and access controls limiting who can reach your data. On your device, your sign-in credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain and any unsent draft is stored with file protection that makes it unreadable while the device is locked. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the rights to know or access what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and because we use sensitive personal information only to provide the App you request, certain rights such as opting out of sale or sharing do not apply to our practices.
To exercise any right, contact us at privacy@theatmanmethod.com. We will verify your request as required by law before acting on it. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law.
The App is not directed to and may not be used by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us at privacy@theatmanmethod.com.
We may update this Policy. If we make material changes we will update the effective date above and, where required by law or appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
